Itafort of Itanagar This fort was constructed by Ramachandra of Mayapur in the early 14th or 15th century. The word ‘Itafort’ literally means ‘the fort of bricks’ and it is located at the heart of the capital complex. This rugged fort comprises two brick barricades, three gates and natural defenses.
