Amongst the more traditional places is the famous Pan Bazaar, which is located at the southern bank of River Brahmaputra. The area houses famous landmarks of the city like the Cotton College, RBI, Dighali Pukhuri, and the District Court. The place is known as a shopping haven with many wholesale and retail outlets for clothing and other items. This is the central commercial center in the heart of the city. The place is famous for the railway station and various hotels, restaurants, offices, and shopping destinations. Paltan bazaar is the center for transportation with many bus services active here. Reach There Guwahati is a metropolitan city and is linked by all major airlines, and trains. There is also a Rajdhani train running from New Delhi to Guwahati. National Highway 31 links Guwahati with the adjoining states of Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. NH 37 links Guwahati with other cities deeper into the North Eastern region. |
